Americus was the tenth of twelve children born to John A. and Martha Ann (Vinyard) Boatright. He married Cora Jane Blackburn in 1894 and they had six sons: Arvil, Roy E, Lloyd, Leman R., Walter C. and Wilbern.

Rites in Marion

Funeral services for Mack Boatright, 88, Rt. 2, Marion, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Wilson Funeral Home of Marion.
The Rev. C. R. Walker and the Rev. L. G. Hartley will officiate. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
Mr. Boatright died at 12:40 p.m. Monday at the home of his niece, Mrs. Marion Parks, where he lived. He was born near Galatia in Saline County Sept. 29, 1872, and was a Marion resident 34 years. He was a retired farmer.
He leaves sons Wilburn, Marion Junior High School principal, Roy, Marion Jefferson School teacher, Leeman of West Frankfort, Walter of Decatur and Lloyd of Joliet; brother, Leonard of Peoria; nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Boatright was married to Cora Blackburn in 1895. She died in 1945.
