Henry Douglas Baird, son of Henry Baird and Jane Mary Baird of 36 Greenville Terrace, Dublin was born on 3 October 1892, and was baptised at St. Catherine's Church [C.ofI.], Thomas Street, Dublin, on 9 December 1892.
His father was recorded as a Constable in the Dublin Metropolitan Police.
In the 1901 census, Douglas Baird, aged 8 and his sister Evelyn, aged 3, were recorded as boarders in the home of Elizabeth Beale and her children at Drumderry, Co. Wexford.
In the 1911 Census, Henry Douglas Baird was described as 18 years old, and unemployed. His mother, Mary Jane Baird was described as a 40 year old widow, a Maternity Nurse, who had 5 surviving children, two of whom lived with her.
The family were then living at 4, St. Benedict's Gardens, off the North Circular Road, Dublin. The house appears to be in use as a Nursing Home.
