George Lefroy Battersby, son of William Battersby and Charlotte Battersby, formerly Barry, of Turrett Villa, Rathmines, was born on 23 August 1863, and was baptised on 11 September 1863 at St. Peter's Church [C. of I.] Aungier St. Dublin.
His father was a House & Land Agent.

Marriage.
George Lefroy Battersby, a bachelor, a House & Land Agent, from 118 Upper Leeson Street, Dublin, son of William Battersby, a Gentleman, married Eleanor Jane Paxton, a spinster, from 28 Garville Avenue, Rathgar, Dublin, daughter of James William Paxton, a Gentleman, on 9 July 1902 at Christ Church, Leeson Park, Dublin.
The witnesses were,

Homan N. Fossitt.

Death.
George Lefroy Battersby, aged 56, married, an Estate Agent, a Major 2/6 R.W.F., died on 29 October 1919 at 27 Adelaide Road, Dublin.
The cause of death was Pneumonia, about 11 days, Cardiac Failure, certified.
His death was registered on 22 November 1919 by Eleanor J. Battersby, widow of deceased, present at death, 27 Adelaide Road.
