in the 1901 census, the Conyngham family were recorded at

present were,
Henry, aged 56, a Pharmaceutical Chemist, born in Derry
Mary Frances, his wife, aged 50, born in Stafford [England].
their children,
Ernest, son, aged 19, an Engineer.
Cecil Taylor, son, aged 17, a student at Trinity College.
Robert, son, aged 15, a student.
two female domestic staff lived with them.

There was no record of any member of the family in the 1911 census.

He was part of the ill-fated attempt to land British and Indian Army forces into German East Africa, where German forces were operating south of Kenya. In many ways the plan was similar to that for Gallipoli, and after several days the invasion force retreated, leaving 360 dead behind.
