Died at Tate's Spring, Tennessee, where he had gone for his health a few days before. He was born in Elbert County but was brought up in Newton County and resided many years in Columbus, Georgia. Moved to Atlanta in 1859. He was a ma of great energy, of character, and was strictly honest in all his dealings.
