Besides her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H., son Charles L., brother and sister-in-law Arthur and Patricia Greer, brother-in-law Ted Strassburg, and brother-in-law Richard Strassburger.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Sandra S. (Ronald) Grow of Jackson, Jeannine K. Evelyn was a very active member of the Jackson Community. She worked at the Jackson Chamber of Commerce, and at the same time, sat on The Board of Directors for the Jackson County Rose Festival., she also worked at the Cascades Ice Company and Sports Arena as a bookkeeper, and in "retirement" as secretary for the Jackson County Rose Festival. In her later years, she enjoyed volunteering for the R.S.V.P., the V.F.W., the V.F.W. Cooties and was a member of the Reed Manor Tenant Association, where she resided for 10 years until her failing health brought her to her daughters home last December. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, time outside during the summer months, and trips during her Rose Festival years with "the girls" to the Miss Michigan and Miss America Pagents. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
At her request, Evelyn has donated her body as a last "volunteer effort" to the University of Michigan School of Medicine in the hopes of furthering research, as a result, there will be no visitation or service at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family wishes donations to be made in her name to The National Kidney Foundation, Great Lakes Hospice, or foundation of your choice.
