THE PARIS NEWS, Tuesday, October 9, 1962, Pg. 2: "The funeral of Mrs. R. B. Crews, 1619 Fairfax, who died Sunday at Lamar Medical Center, will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m., at the United Pentecostal church here, burial at Detroit to be made by Grant Funeral Home of Deport. The Rev. James Kilgore, Houston, and the Rev. H. E. Gerald, pastor here, will officiate. Mrs. Crews, the former Nimmie M. Whitaker, was born in Red River County, July 6, 1886, daughter of Wiley and Betty (Gother) Whitaker, She and Mr. Crews were married April 9, 1908. Besides her husband, she leaves these children: Mrs. Tom Plant and Dewey Crews, Peoria, Ariz.; Mrs. Fred McPherson, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Mrs. Onnie Cross and Joe Crews, Paris; Mrs. Ollie Byrd, Robert Crews, Jr., and Albert Crews, all of Fort Worth, and Willie Crews, Detroit; 50 other descendants; and a sister and two brothers, Mrs. Bud Lee and Dow Whitaker, Dallas, and Scott Whitaker, Avery."
