Otto was the son of Ernst Eschmann and Johanna Meyer. On 25 Jul 1893 he married Anna Zittel and they had four children: Otto, Eleanora, Cyclonia and an infant boy. Otto was a sheet-metal worker for much of his life. He died of carcinoma of the pancreas at the age of 69.
