The birth of James Thresh was registered in Q3, 1900, in Barnsley District, West Riding of Yorkshire, England.

Son of Henry and Margaret Hannah Thresh, of Sheffield Road, Barnsley. His father was an accountant's clerk.


He died when attempting to cross the River Erne to the northern shore, when on horseback. The riderless horse was found on the opposite bank of the river.
