Sudden Death- Freeman Jones, an aged resident of Lincoln, living at the corner of Sherman and Quincey Streets, died at noon Friday, while seated at the dinner table. With his good wife he began the noonday meal, when suddenly he clutched his throat, exclaimed, "Mother!" and expired. A physician was summoned, but the aged man was beyond earthly aid.

The funeral occurred Sunday morning at 8 o'clock at the late home in Lincoln. Rev Charles B Taylor, of the Methodist Church officiated. At the conclusion of the services the remains were interred in the Jolly Cemetery, where a large number of the friends and former neighbors of the deceased assembled to honor his memory.

Mr Jones was born March 5, 1817, in Kentucky, and came to Logan county when three years old, since which date he had not been outside the state of Illinois. On November 7 1842, he was married to Lurana B Shepherd, who, with nine children, survive and mourn the death of husband and father.

The children are:
John T Jones, Walnut, KS;
Mrs Barbara Ellen Horn, Welsh, IT;
Mrs Margaret Ann (J B) Houchin, Lincoln, IL;
Francis "Frank" Marion Jones, Belleflower, IL;
Mrs Mary Elizabeth Mehrten, Atlanta, IL;
Mrs Georgia Ann Houghtling, Atlanta, IL;
Mrs Isabelle (M A) Pippenger, Lincoln, IL;
