Dorothy Blimline Heffner Houghton, 87, of Terrace Ocala, FL. went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 16th, 2008 at Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg, SC. Mrs. Houghton was born in Reading, Penn. on July 6, 1921 the daughter of the late Wayne and Anna Blimline Heffner. Her stepmother, Annie Heffner, also predeceased her.
She was the wife of Robert Houghton,celebrating 61 years of marriage. Other survivors include four daughters, six sons, 25 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She was a member of Agape Baptist Church in Ocala, Florida and was a homemaker. She enjoyed children and grandchildren and was very active in childrens' ministries. She was a hospice volunteer in Florida and enjoyed her own "Care Bear" ministry to children. A celebration of life funeral service will be held at 7:00pm on Thursday, July 17th, with family members participating. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice 120 Heywood Ave., Suite 300 Spartanburg, SC 29302.
