He was a verterinarian with offices on Grant Street in Mount Penn from 1945 until his retirement in 1988. He had previously practice in Carlisle, Cumberland County, from 1939 to 1941. Ricker was a former member of Mount Penn Borough Council. Born in Carlisle, he ws a son of the late Ulysses and Sadie (Ebersole) Ricker. Ricker also had been employed from 1955 to 1965 as a meat packing inspector by Berks Packing Co. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Ricker was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Mount Penn. He was a past president of the Mount Penn Rotary club and the Schuylkill Valley Veterinary Medical Association.
Ricker was a 1935 graduate of the university of Pennsylania Veterinary School in 1939. He is also survived by a son, Thomas H., Wernersville; and a daughter, Christina M. (Ricker) Lutz, Reading. Other survivors include two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. in the Auman Funeral Home, Reiffton. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
