He was a member of Harmony Methodist Church of Marlowe.
He was a retired farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Arbutus E. Knipple Houck; two sons, Darrell I Houck, at home and Henry C. Houck of Chevy Chase, Md.; two daughters, Mrs. Emma Jane Knipe of Kearneysville and Mrs. Jane E. Rhodes of Marion, Va.; and seven grandchildren.
