Mrs. Ricker Dies, Aged 36

Mrs. Ellen Hoover Ricker died at 12:30 a.m. today in Community Hospital from complications resulting from an operation last Wednesday for gall bladder and kidney trouble. She was 36 years of age and had lived in Shamokin Dam for the past three years. Her husband, Raymond Ricker is employed at the Pennsylvania Railroad at Enola. Mrs. Ricker was admitted to the hospital October 20.

Mrs. Ricker was born in Northumberalnd, March 19, 1908, the daughter of the late Charles and Nora Ramer Hoover. After the death of her father while she was quite young she became a guest at the Central Pennsylvania Odd Fellows Orphanage, east of Sunbury. After her graduation she went to live with her foster parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Murray in Northumberland. Her father had died in 1917 and her mother, September 6, 1934.

After her marriage to Mr. Ricker they lived in Point Township and later moved to Berwick coming to Shamokin Dam several years ago. She was a member of the Evangelical church in Northumberland.

Surviving besides her husband are eight children. Mary Ellen, Carl, Glenn, Janet, John, Kenneth, Paul and Russel Ricker, all at home. A sister, Mrs. Earl Longacre, of 783 King street, Northumberland, also survives.

Funeral arrangements are in charge of Robert L. Davis, Northumberland, and will be announced later.
