Noel "Ellis" Deel was born on Wednesday, April 16, 1930 in Roby, Fisher County, Texas to Noel "Pete" Deel and Serena Elmiria "Elrena" Lee.

He had three siblings: Wilburn "Sussum" Deel, Max Rogers Deel and Barbara Lee Deel Ochs.

His paternal grandparents were George Washington Deel and Florence Emaline "Galley" Brookshire, and his paternal great grandparents were Peter Abraham Deel, III and Isabella Serena Duff.

He married the love of his life, Helen Lee "Ninnie" Perkins, on March 31, 1951 in Roby, Texas. Ellis once said, "My greatest enjoyment is having time to spend with Helen. She is a wonderful wife and friend."
They were blessed with two children, Douglas Alan Deel and Debra Ann "Debbie" Deel Sherrill.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1970, and was a U.S. Department of Defense employee from 1971 to 1985.

He was a master Mason and a Shriner.

He died on Tuesday, December 4, 2007, in Arlington, Texas, 21 hours before his precious Helen joined him in heaven.
