BRANSCOMB, CA - Reynold John Arcand, 65, of Branscomb, CA, died Saturday, August 13, 2011 following a short illness.

Reynold was born June 23, 1946 in Negaunee to Raymond "Archie" and Matilda "Tillie" (Juidici) Arcand, was a graduate of Negaunee High School, Class of 1964, and attended Northern Michigan University, graduating with a Liberal Arts Degree in Music Education in 1968.

Music was Reynold's life and his career involved teaching, performing and composing, which began at age 6, playing the accordion on radio stations and concert stages in the Negaunee area. His interest in piano, drums and saxophone emerged and starting at age 16 he traveled during summer months with several music groups, performing at various venues across the U.S.

Following graduation from Northern, he taught music at John Muir Junior High School in Milwaukee, WI before moving to northern California. While living in Branscomb, he formed several music groups and performed in the northern California area.

Reynold also traveled extensively pursuing his music interests, which included working with country singer Waylon Jennings in Nashville.
He also participated in an extensive European tour with pianist Spencer Brewer, accompanying him with the saxophone.

Surviving are his loving wife, Lorie (Honkavaara), formerly of Ishpeming,
2 children from his previous marriage to Linda Hooper: Shelley (Dana) Pinkerton of San Diego and Willie (Bronwyn) Arcand of Colfax, CA,
3 grandsons: Gus Ford of San Diego, Garrett and Seth Arcand of Colfax, CA,
a sister, Nancy Arcand of Negaunee, MI,
a brother, Denny (Kris) Arcand of Upland, Indiana,
several nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and 1 uncle.
Reynold was preceded in death by his parents.
