Edward, age 82, of Brookfield, passed into Eternal Life after a long and courageous battle with diabetes. Ed was a graduate of Wisconsin State Teachers College, now known as UWM, and recipient of a Masters Degree in Administration from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He served as an educator in the Milwaukee Public Schools for 35 years, ultimately reaching his goal to be a Principal. He was a confident and positive Principal whose passion was helping students and families succeed. He always rose to challenges, seeking solutions, when he was Principal of Roosevelt Middle School during the years of desegregation. He was also the Principal of Bryant Elementary School for 8 years before his retirement. Additionally, Ed honorably served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Ed enjoyed time with his beloved wife, Elf, and they were able to take wonderful trips and cruises together. Fort Lauderdale became the yearly destination for the family's annual reunion. Ed enjoyed sports and was faithful to his Savior. Beloved husband of Elfrieda "Elf" (nee Graef) for 58 years. Loving father of Mary (John) Shacklett, Edward (Jane) Eberle, Mark (Judy) Eberle and Susan (Kim) Merriman. He enjoyed his 8 grandchildren very much, Melissa, Michael, Elizabeth, Kathryn, Kristin, Sarah, Ben and James. Further survived by 2 sisters-in-law, Irene Plainse and Josephine Eberle; and 2 brothers-in-law, Ross Plainse and Otto Graef; other nieces, nephews and friends. Ed also enjoyed his cat Willy very much. Funeral Service were held at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Wauwatosa. "To you Oh Lord I lift up my soul; in you I trust, O my God" Psalm 24:1-2He was a principal at WC Bryant Elementary School.
