C. Baland, one of the old settlers of Allen county, died at his home east of Humboldt Sunday. Mr. Baland came to Humboldt in 1856. He was a postmaster in the latter 60s. The funeral services were held at the home Tuesday afternoon and were in charge of Rev. McQuestion. A large number of friends were in attendance.
