Son of Tony Cardot of France and Maria Badonat of Germany. Mr. Tony Cardot came to Grayson, Louisiana from Paris, France. Most people of the small town did not relate to him as this was during the depression and foreign people were not readily accepted. However, there was one family that took this special person as their friend. The Cooper family had just delivered a baby girl on July 09, 1939. The baby was born weighing only 3 pounds, and the family feared she would not survive without the needed nutrition. That is when friendship and love came into this story. Mr. Tony Cardot would come by their house and give the family his ration tickets to buy the needed milk for the baby. The baby thrived and grew as expected.
When Mr. Cardot passed away in 1944, my grandfather, Reverand William Thomas Cooper took him to the Little Star Cemetery and buried him.
He rests today among the beautiful trees of the new home that he had found, and not very far from some very special friends, Bessie Mae Beavers Cooper, and her husband, William whom he knew and had lovingly given to during their time of need.
