Alden, Dorothy E.L. EAST GREENBUSH Dorothy E.L. Alden, 100, of East Greenbush died peacefully on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at her residence. Born in Warrensburg, N.Y. to the late William H. Alden and Anna Laura Bennett Alden; sister of the late Clara Alden Nead. Dorothy resided in Albany for many years and received her education at Albany Public Schools, the Milne School and Albany Business College. She was a legal secretary to the late W.L.L. Peltz, Joseph Greenburg and George W. Steadman. She was an active Republican, past president of the East Greenbush Republican club, past president of Albany County Legal Secretaries, member of the Mayflower Society, and a member of the East Greenbush Civic Theatre. Survivors include two nieces, Cynthia Nead Nevins, Sara Lynn Nead Fanney; and nephew, Rev. Prescott E. Nead III; grandnephews, Varick Nevins and Alden Nead, grandnieces, Sara Holland Nead Pickerel and Alison Nead Hayes. She is also survived by great-grandniece and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to share memories Sunday 2:00 p.m. from the Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Tpk., Rensselaer.
