Obituary:

Mr. John Hoyt Farmer, age 100 of Melbourne, Fla. , formerly of Summerville passed away on Friday, March 22, 2013. He was born May 7, 1912 in Toccoa, Ga. son of the late James & Eunice Farmer. He was Owner/Operator of a Commercial Laundry in Summerville for many years, received a Masters Degree from Oglethorpe University, was a member of the Hall of Fame at Oglethorpe University. Mr. Farmer was a member of Summerville First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and was a veteran of the US Navy. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers & sisters and his wife Bolling Brown Farmer in 2005.

Survivors include his daughter, Katherine Bolling Farmer of Ashburn, VA and a sister Barbara Kinchiloe of Richmond, VA.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. from the Summerville First Baptist Church with Dr. Paul Mason officiating. Interment will follow in Summerville Cemetery.

Visitation for Mr. John Hoyt Farmer will be Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 12 pm to 2 pm.

Pallbearers will be the Deacons of the Summerville First Baptist Church and are requested to meet at the Church on Tuesday at 2:15 p.m.

In-lieu of flowers the family ask that contributions be made to the Summerville First Baptist Curch.
