NORFOLK— Luvenia Benthall, 104, formerly of Norfolk, passed away peacefully on Aug. 11, 2003 at the Health Center of Merritt Island, Fla.

Ms. Benthall wasa retired operator with C&P Telephone Company with 10 years of service. She wasa member of Colonial Avenue Methodist Church for more than 75 years and a member of the United Methodist Women.

Ms. Benthall is survived by her sister, Virginia Old; sister-in-law, Katherine Charltnon; son-in-law, Frank Miller of Chesapeake; granddaughter, Donna Whaley of Merritt Island, Fla.; grandsons, Frank Miller Jr. of Portsmouth, Claud Miller and Terry Miller of Chesapeake; six great-grandchildren; and four great-greatgrandchildren.

Ms. Benthall was predeceased by husbands, Claud Brown and O.J. Benthall; daughters, Elizabeth Miller and Ruth Margaret Whaley; brothers, Aubrey and Robert W. Charlton; and sisters, Eula August and Eva Spruill.

Memorial services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Colonial Avenue Methodist Church. Burial will be at Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk. Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or Colonial Methodist Church, 1420 Colonial Ave., Norfolk, VA 23517.
