Actor. Born in Burma to British parents, he moved to England as a child. Following service with the Royal Marines in World War II, he joined a theatre repertory company and during the 1950s appeared in many stage productions. He was also seen in over 20 films, including: "Rattle of a Simple Man" (1964) and "Carry On Screaming" (1966). Corbett is probably best remembered for his role in the long-running TV series "Steptoe and Son" (1962 to 1974), in which he starred with Wilfrid Brambell. In his last years, he suffered from heart disease, the cause of his death at age 57.
