He founded Patterson Colony, now the City of Patterson, Stanislaus Co., California.
He married Elizabeth Bernhard, and from this union two children were borne: Dorothy H. Patterson (born Feb, 1895), and John Duncan "Jack" Patterson (born Sept, 1898), both born in Fresno, Fresno Co., California. (All of the above contributed by Vicky Peterson)
In 1888, T. W. Patterson came to Fresno as a young real estate capitalist and built the T. W. Patterson building which still is in existence in downtown Fresno.
