George J. Bartlett was a 35 year old carpenter residing in Reading, Mass., when he enlisted on August 15, 1862 as a Sergeant. On September 19, 1862 he mustered into "D" Co., MA 50th Infantry. He died of disease on July 2, 1863 at Baton Rouge, LA.
