HANNAH BROWN
"Here lyes the body of Mrs. Hannah Brown, wife of Nathaniel Brown….."
In the vertical border areas which flank this gravestone on either side we find stems and leaves climbing upwards into the finials in which we find daisies. The daisy is a symbol of innocence. The tympanum area on top has aged in a very odd fashion. In this area you will notice a winged soul-effigy with primitive type drapery at the very top. If you look closely at the eyes, one appears to be open while the other seems to be partially closed or altogether shut.
