Company C, 60th Georgia Infantry Regiment
This is the bulk of the information I have.
Andrew Carson was wounded at battle of Wilderness May 5, 1864. He died in Gordonsville, Va. hospital same day. If he was buried in a cemetery, where would this be? He was a 2nd Lieut in the 60th Georgia Infantry Co C with Capt J. C. Wardlaw. Before the war Wardlaw was a wealthy merchant in Walker Co. Ga. with a wife, children and 10 slaves.
Andrew was a brother to Stephen Huff Carson who was with the 9th Georgia, Company G. Stephen was wounded several times but survived the war. In 1869 he moved to Wayne Co. Mo.
His son, Samuel Bailey Carson in a letter, wrote that his father was in the Civil War and it was not known he was killed until after the war when a man on horseback came to bring his father's napsack and a letter to his mother. The man said he was with him when he died.
Andrew's widow Catherine, filed for a widow's pension:

Actually there are two pension applications and the 2nd one appears to reference the first one. One was in Catoosa County, Georgia, the other in Walker County, Georgia.
