Mary H. Jones, 100, of Lake Waynewood, formerly of Dallas, died Monday at the Abington Manor, Clarks Summit, where she was a resident. Born in Scranton, she was a daughter of the late Howell and Minnie (Williams) Harris. She was a graduate of Scranton Central High School. She was a violinist, studying with Arnold Lohmann, played with the Scranton Philharmonic and was invited to join the Cleveland Symphony. She also played locally at church, civic and social functions. She was a member of the Plymouth Congregational Church, Plymouth, Covenant Presbyterian Church, Scranton, Century Club of Scranton and the Rotaryanns. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frederick W. Jennings; and second husband, Herbert S. Jones. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Covenant Presbyterian Church, Madison Avenue at Olive Street, Scranton. Interment will be in Abington Hills Cemetery, South Abington Township. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the main sanctuary of the church. Arrangements are by the Howard J. Snowdon Funeral Home, 1810 Sanderson Ave., Scranton.
