Janetta York Coleman, 102, of Peckville, died Wednesday at Green Ridge Health Care Center. She was the wife of Eugene Coleman, who died June 3, 1979. Born in Peckville, daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Propst York, Jane was a member of Peckville United Methodist Church and a graduate of Blakely High School. She was also a graduate of Bloomsburg University with a bachelor's degree and Marywood University with a master's degree. She was a member of the Ladies Auxillary of A. Pierson Hurd American Legion Post 236, Peckville, and Mid-Valley Hospital Ladies Auxillary. She was a charter member and past president of Peckville Business and Professional Women. Before retirement, she was a teacher in the Blakely and Valley View school districts for 44 years. Jane was also preceded in death by sisters, Eleanor Edwards, Josephine Caterina, Edna York and Mary Dodgson; nephew, Robert Kohut; and a great-nephew, Brian Walsh. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. in the Robert E. Decker Funeral Home, 702 River St., Peckville. Interment, Prospect Hill Cemetery, Peckville. Friends may call today from noon until the service.
