ROSE E. FANUCCI DIES AT AGE 107

Rose E. Fanucci, 107, formerly of Old Forge, died Wednesday morning in the Wesley Village Campus of the United Methodist Homes, Pittston, where she had been a resident for 14 years. Born and raised in Old Forge, daughter of the late Luigi and Theresa Tonetti Fanucci, she was a graduate of Old Forge High School. She continued her education and became a graduate of the Stroudsburg State Teachers College and Penn State University. She worked as a 4th grade teacher in the Old Forge Elementary School. Prior to her retirement, she was also employed as a case worker for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. She was the oldest parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Old Forge. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Louis Fanucci, and three sisters, Lena Rogo, Mary Pizano, and Jule Bradigan. The funeral will be Friday with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, West Grace St., Old Forge. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton. Those planning to attend should proceed directly to the church. There will be no public viewing. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Victor M. Ferri Funeral Home, 522 Fallon St., Old Forge.
