Beverly Marvin Byrd Jr., 74, of Collinsville, passed away at his home and went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 19, 2016. He was born in Martinsville on November 23, 1941 to the late Beverly Marvin Byrd, Sr. and the late Ruby Angle Byrd. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kate Byrd; and an infant sister, Mary Belle Byrd. He was a member of Broad Street Christian Church in Martinsville.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Gilbert Byrd; one daughter, Rhonda B. Blankenship and husband, Mike; one grandchild, Chase Blankenship and wife, Christina; three step-grandchildren, Cody Foley, Katelynn Foley and Jamie Massey; one sister, Joanne B. Gilbert and husband, Doug; one nephew, Jeffrey Gilbert; and numerous cousins.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016 in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Gary Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow the service at Roselawn Burial Park.
