Roscoe Jackson Wykle was the son of Allen Caperton Wykle, Jr. and Ida Susan Morgan. He married Stella M. Erskine (daughter of William George Erskine and Laura Masters) in about 1928.

Hinton Resident Dies In Virginia

Hinton (RNS) – Roscoe Wykle, 60, died Tuesday morning in a Clifton Forge, Va., hospital after a long illness.
He had lived at Hinton for 20 years and was former resident of Ronceverte.

Wykle was a member of the Greenbrier Regular Baptist Church at Ronceverte and was an engineer for the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway.

Survivors include his wife, Stella; two daughters, Mrs. Nellie Massey of Ronceverte and Miss Juanita Wykle, at home; six sons, Wallace of Caldwell, Thomas and Paul, both of Hinton, Ellery of Covington, Va., and Alfred and Elmer, both at home; a brother, Merritt Wykle of Ronceverte, and eight grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Greenbrier Regular Baptist Church with Rev. Nelson Pettit and Rev. Fred Dillon in charge. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The body will remain at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home Chapel in Ronceverte and will be placed in the church one hour prior to the funeral.
