This is the note that is in the addendum of the Colleen Belk Tombstone Inscription book (Vol IV):

"This obituary may explain the grave beside Solomon Dunning. Narcice A. Dunning, died at St. Joseph, Mo. 22 Dec 1902 at the home of her son-in-law, Lon Leslie. Aged 63 yrs 9 mo. 5 da. She was brought to Jasper Co., Mo. and buried in the Spring River Graveyard by the side of her husband who preceded her eleven years. She was the mother of nine children, eight survive her."

No indication where that obituary might have been found. Spring River was the name of the Church of the Brethren church that was at one time at the cemetery site. I have found no note that she would have had a son-in-law by the name of Lon Leslie; she did have a son by the name of Leslie though. - Gene Ewert (#46479274)
