Mary Graham
Mary, wife of Luke Graham, died Monday morning at the home of her son, William, in this city in the 84th year of her life, succombing to the infirmities of her years. Her remains were interred here Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Alexander Gilmore conducting the services.
Mary, maiden name, Green, was born in Ireland on August 7,1818. Her parents immigrated to Canada when she was young. She married Luke Graham in Montreal May 20,1841. Seven years later they moved to Cleveland, Ohio and lived there five years, then to Delaware County, Iowa in 1853 and in 1890 to Sac County, Iowa.
Eleven children were born to them, five surviving; William of Odebolt, Iowa; John C. of Early, Iowa; Frank E. of Platte, South Dakota; Mrs. Mary McCord of Boone, Nebraska; Mrs. Juliette Melcher of Akron, Nebraska. Mrs. Melcher was the only one not present for the funeral.
Mary Graham was a excellent woman, a good wife and mother, and will be missed by a large circle of acquaintances.
