DALLAS: Ralph Cloninger, 100, died Jan. 5, 2002, at Carolina Care Center in Cherryville.

He was a native of Gaston County, son of the late J.W. and Molly Mauney Cloninger Sr.

FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dallas Baptist Church

BURIAL: Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia

VISITATION: One hour before the funeral at the church

ARRANGEMENTS: Sisk-Butler Funeral Home

He was retired from Perfection Mills, Belmont, and was employed by Carl Cloninger & Son Grocery from 1965-1990. He was a lifelong member of Dallas Baptist Church.

SURVIVORS: Wife of 78 years, Stella Brooks Cloninger; daughters and son-in-law, Myrtle Rash, Denver, NC, Betty and Bob Noblette, Bessemer City; brother, J.W. Cloninger Jr., Newton; 10 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: Son, Arnold Cloninger; daughters, Martha, Edna and Frances Ruth Cloninger; sister, Clara Avery; brothers, Clyde, Carl and Hugh Cloninger.
