Vertie A. Little

Vertie Alice Little, 101, Hermitage Health Care Center, Elizabethton, died there Sunday, September 28, 2003.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Jimie and Mollie Holly Little.
She was a homemaker. In June, 1988, while a resident of the Hermitage Health Care Center, she was named to the Tennessee
Health Care Association's "Who's Who in Tennessee Nursing Homes".
Blind since childhood, Ms. Little spent a lot of time doing hand crafts making rag dolls and braided rugs. She can also do needlework.
She was a member of Little Mountain Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by 20 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Edna Sorrell Williams and her husband, Jack Williams, Elizabethton; a granddaughter, Jeanette
Tyree, and her husband, Thomas Tyree, Elizabethton; a great
grandson, James Tyree and his wife, Christy, Elizabethton; four
great great grandchildren, Taylor, Bailey, Hunter and Remington
Tyree, and one brother, Thomas Little and his wife, Ruby, of
Bartlett, Tenn. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later.
Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

2003, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 2, 2003 in
the Holly Hill Cemetery (Whitehead Hill Community) with the Rev.
Stephen Witt officiating.
