Gary Jonathan Buro, 34, of Chesterfield, Va., formerly of New York City, was killed in the line of duty May 4, 2006. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jennifer Buro. Gary is survived by his parents, Ralph Buro Sr. and Agnes M. Thalmann; his sister and her husband, Jennifer and Michael Del Pesce; his brother and his wife, Ralph and Lisa Buro; his girlfriend, Kathy Kachmar; and his nieces and nephew, Danielle, Bethany, and Michael. Gary served in Operation Desert Storm with the United States Marine Corp. Upon his return from the Marines, he joined the Lantana, Florida Police Force where he served for five years. He then joined the New York City Police Force where he worked at the Midtown South Precint during 9-11. Gary moved to Chesterfield, Va. to join the Chesterfield County Police Force. Gary has fulfilled his lifelong ambition to both serve and protect his country as a Marine and Police Officer.

He was a widower and is survived by his parents, sister, and brother.
