Earl V. Bennett was born August 19, 1885, at Nichols Junction, Greene County, MO and passed away at 2:35 o'clock War time December 19, 1942, at the home of his aged father, J.H. Bennett, 1 1/2 miles southwest of Long Lane, MO where he had been an invalid in a wheel chair for more than nine years. He was 57 years, 3 months, and 29 days of age.

One brother preceded him in death Oct 6, 1928, also his mother, Nannie I. Bennett, passed away on Jan. 21, 1938. There remain to mourn his loss two brothers Lee and wife and daughter Beulah of Long Lane, and Lester and wife and daughter Pansy of California; and three sisters, Ethel Day and husband and son John Riley Huff of Louisburg, Gertie Kahler and husband and family of Buffalo, and Ester Dugan and husband and family of Marshfield. Besides these are a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Lester Slack Saturday at 11 am at Pisgah Baptist Church at Long Lane. Burial followed in Pisgah Cemetery under direction of L.B. Jones.
