Mrs. Nancy Isabelle Bennett

Mrs. Nancy Isabelle Bennett, a daughter of John and Sarah Triplett, was born March 12, 1865. She died at the family home near Long Lane January 21, 1938 at 7:15 p.m., being 74 years, 10 months, and 9 days old.

She was married August 31, 1885 to Jim Bennett. To this union were born seven children. They are Earl at home and an invalid; Will preceded her in death; Mrs. Ethel Huff and Mrs. Gertie Kahler of Buffalo; Lee and Lester of Long Lane; Mrs. Esther Dugan of Marshfield. Also 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren survive, and four brothers, George A. Triplett, Ironwood, Mich., James of Allowe, Okla., Joe and Will of Long Lane; three sisters, Mrs. Rebecca Roach, Webb City, Mo., Mrs Mahulda Babb, Springfield, Mo., and Mrs. Salla Franklin, Sapulpa, Okla.

She professed a hope in Christ at an early age. She was a kind, loving wife, mother, and sister. She had been blind and an invalid for several years. Her husband is blind. She had a cheerful disposition and met everyone with a smile. All was done that medical aid and loving hands could do, but God knew best, and said, "Come up higher." May we all learn to say, "God's will be done, not ours."

All her children and two brothers, Joe and Will, were at her bedside when the end came. Those from a distance who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Ben Bennett of Seymour, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Stone of Springfield, Mr. and Mrs. Charley Bennett, Springfield, Mrs. Ruth Highfill, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Stone, Mrs. Hulda Babb, and probably others from Springfield, Mrs Docia McDaniel and son Jessie of Louisburg, Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Hill and two children of Fair Grove, Mr and Mrs Charley Dugan and two sons of Marshfield.

Funeral services were conducted at Long Lane Baptist Church by Rev. Paul W. Antle at 2:00 p.m. Sunday.
