Wade Hampton Davis Died Here Yesterday; Funeral Service Sunday

Wade Hampton Davis died at his home, No. 221 Webster street, Friday afternoon at 5 o'clock. Mr. Davis had been in declining health for the past year, up to which time he ahd been actively engaged in business. He was 52 years of age and had been a resident of Greenville for thirty years, and has many friends who will be grieved to learn of his death.
He is survived by his wife and four daughters, Mrs. T.L. Causby, Mrs. P.V. Stiller, Miss Freddie May and Miss Maude Davis, all of this city; five sons, Messrs, H.H., E.S., B.S., A.E. and W.H. Davis, all of Greenville; three brothers, Messrs. J.R., R.N. and Young Davis of Athens, Ga.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from Choice Street Methodist Church, Rev. J.W. McElreath officiating. Interment will follow in Springwood cemetery. Mr. Davis' sons will act as pallbearers.
Cedar Camp Woodmen of the World, of which he was a member, will have charge of the funeral service at the graveside.
