Mrs. Alice B. Alfred, 94, native and lifelong resident of Harwinton and the town's oldest resident, died last night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J Murial Bedford, Wildcat Hill Road, after a short illness.
She was born October 17, 1869, daughter of Edgar and Mary Alfred Brown. Her husband, Julius B. Alfred, died in October, 1945. She was a member of Founders Congregational Church.
Mrs. Alfred was a graduate of New Britain Normal School and taught in schools in Putnam, Northfield, Thomaston and Harwinton.
