BOETTNER, Raymond C., PhD. - Raymond Charles Boettner, PhD., 77, beloved husband of Mary (Purtell) Boettner of Windsor, died unexpectedly Saturday, (November 5, 2005) at Hartford Hospital. Born in New Rochelle, NY on September 14, 1928, son of the late Raymond Joseph Boettner and Theresa (Malik) Boettner, he had lived in Windsor for the last 39 years. Mr. Boettner was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. Before retiring, he was employed as a metallurgist by Pratt and Whitney Aircraft, East Hartford and Middletown and prior to that was employed by Ford Motor Company, Detroit, MI. He was a communicant of St. Gabriel Church, Windsor, enjoyed gardening, bird watching and was a nature enthusiast. In addition to his wife, he leaves three daughters and two sons-in-law, Carolyn and Thomas Zaloum of Arlington, MA, Susan Boettner of Old Lyme, and Jane and Wade Garrison of Southwick, MA. Funeral service will be private at Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, Windsor. Burial with military honors will be in Windsor Veterans Memorial Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
