BROWN, Richard C. - Richard C. (Dick) Brown, 81, of Enfield died Saturday, (February 24, 2007). He was the beloved husband of Martha L. Brown and the father of Kenneth and Janice Brown, and the son of the late Harry and Lillian Brown. Dick was a World War II Navy veteran. He retired from the Westvaco Envelope Division as Laboratory Director. He was a graduate of Clark University with a Master's Degree in Chemistry and received an MBA from Western New England College. He also was a graduate of the Rennselaer Advanced Managerial School. Dick was a past Chairman and Fellow of the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry; past Chairman of the Paper Industry Management Assoc., past Treasurer of the New England Institute of Chemists, and past Chairman of the American Chemical Society. He was also very active in organizations benefiting individuals with mental retardation. He was past Chairman of Parents, State and Friends Association Hartford Center; Past Chairman of Friends of Retarded Citizens of Connecticut, and former member of the Governor's Council on Mental Retardation. He also served as member of the Board of the Hartford Association of Retarded Citizens (HARC). Dick is survived by his sister-in-law Rita Adlerz, his nephew Clifford Adlerz and his wife Kathleen, and grandnieces Katrina and Alicia Adlerz, all of Franklin, TN. Brown of Wethersfield who died on Saturday, February 24 have been arranged through Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels. Family and friends may attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, March 9 at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 626 Willard Avenue, Newington. A private burial will be held at All Faith's Cemetery in Worcester.
