CAMPBELL, Andre A. - Andre A. Campbell, 86, of Wethersfield, loving husband of the late Antoinette (Morin) Campbell died peacefully on Saturday, (March 3, 2007) at Newington Health Care. He was born July 6, 1920 in Quebec, Canada. He was the son of the late Claudia and Merril Campbell. He became a US citizen in 1925 and entered the US Navy in July of 1942 and proudly served our country during World War II. After the war, Mr. Campbell returned to marry the love of his life. After many years of a very happy marriage, she preceded Andy in death on October 18, 2002. He retired from Palmer Sheet Metal in 1983 and was a member of Sheetmetal Worker's Local 40 Union. Affectionately known as Dad, Andy and Pepere, Mr. Campbell lived most of his life in Wethersfield. Besides being the world's best cookie maker, Andy was known for his ingenuity and sense of humor. Andy was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed spending time with family and was happy to see his children and grandchildren. Besides his wife, he was preceded by his brothers Eugene and Armand. He is survived by a daughter, Claudia, and her husband Nick Bartolomeo of Berlin; a son Richard Campbell and his wife, Cindy; a son Paul Campbell and his companion, Beth McGovern all of Wethersfield; and a son Michael Campbell and his wife, Laura, of Newington and their children, Lindsey, Austin, Zachary and Alexandra. He is also survived by his siblings Ralph, Arthur, Robert, Gerald, Simone, Dorris and Maurice. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, Wethersfield. The burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Calling hours are TODAY from 3-7 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel.
