Eleanor "Ellie" L. (McClellan) Bogdany, 85, of Torrington, formerly of Avon, wife of the late John L. Bogdany, died Sunday (December 16, 2007), at Haven Health, Torrington. Born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late David and Edith (Gebeau) McClellan, she lived in Avon over 30 years moving to Summerville Assisted Living, Torrington three years ago. Eleanor had been employed by AT&T, Sikorsky Aircraft and People's Bank & Trust, and retired from the Arthur Anderson & Co, Hartford in 1993. Active and fun loving, she loved dancing, cooking, crocheting, and spending time with her family. She traveled often as she enjoyed listening to the Bristol Old Time Fiddlers. She had been a member of the Avon Seniors. She leaves a son, Bruce J. Bogdany of Colebrook; two daughters, Maryanne E. Reed and her husband Kevin of Winchester and Susan N. Yeske and her husband Bill of Thomaston; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Daniel and Allan Bogdany and a brother, David McClellan and a sister, Barbara "Sissi" Rice. Family and friends are invited to her funeral service Friday, December 21, 11 a.m. at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon followed by burial in St. Ann's Cemetery, Avon.
