Dorothy "Honey" Lee (Slappy) Bryant, 80, died peacefully early Friday morning (December 14, 2007), at her residence. She was born in Mystic, on June 11, 1927 a daughter of the late Wallace and Lula (Johnson) Slappy, mother of the late Linwood Slappy, and sister of the late Susie Reddick. Dorothy was currently a resident of Windsor and former long time resident of Hartford. She will be remembered to all for her constant love and generosity. Honey was a gentle soul with an endless capacity for kindness; above all she loved her family to whom she gave everything she had. Her family will miss her gentle smile, her laughter and her warm presence. She leaves her devoted husband of 59 years, Irvin Bryant, three loving sons, Richard Slappy of Bloomfield, Vanuel Bryant of Windsor, and Edward Bryant and his wife, Regina of Charlotte, NC; three loving daughters, Ardella Jordan and her husband Walter of Broad Brook, Lori Thompson of Windsor, and Paula Bryant of Bloomington, IN; 21 grandchildren, Tony, Tori, Michael, Christopher, Kelly, Kathy, Cristina, Vanuel Jr., Raquel, Chelsie, Corrine, Edward Jr., Shawn, Shauntei, Dulcie, Nichelle, Tamika, Tyrone, Michelle, Loren and Mallori, numerous great grandchildren, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Her funeral will be held on Saturday December 22, at 11 a.m. at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., with burial to follow in the Windsor Veterans Memorial Cemetery, East Street, both in Windsor.
