Lt. Colonel William "Bill" Thomas Berry, 82, died Thursday (December 4, 2008) of cancer at his home in McLean, Virginia. Mr. Berry served in the U.S. Army for 30 years, retiring to a second career as a life insurance agent. Bill was awarded 21 medals while serving in Korea, World War II and Vietnam (two tours). His treasured medals include three Combat Infantryman Badges, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal (with two Oak Leaf Clusters) and the Air Medal. Berry was born in Hartford (May 15, 1926), attended Bulkeley High School and graduated from the University of Connecticut (Engineering/Business). Survivors include his wife Betty, his children, Leslie Milleson of Stafford, VA, Andrea Lotman of Fredericksburg, VA and Thomas Berry of McLean, VA, as well as eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Bill was predeceased by his sister Rosemarie Berry Dronsfield.
