English Cricketer. Nottinghamshire and All-England Eleven cricketer who was generally reckoned to be the outstanding fast bowler of the 1850's.
Nicknamed "Foghorn" because he blew his nose after taking a wicket, the cricketer died in November 1901 in extreme poverty at Brownlow Hill, a Liverpool workhouse.
