Johanna Ludvig was born August 13, 1830 in Germany, the daughter of Frederich and Henrietta Ludvig. (I also saw her last name as Ladivig, so not sure of the spelling) She married Wilhelm Schimmelpfennig in 1855. They had five children born to them, four sons and a daughter. In 1882 the family emigrated to the United States and came directly to Brownton, Minnesota, where they settled on a farm two miles west of Brownton.
Two sons came to America. I believe the other three children may have died young, probably in Germany.
