Ernest Niznik, retired teacher

WILMINGTON - Ernest G. Niznik, 63, of Wilmington, died Tuesday (Nov. 16, 1999) at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center, Joliet.

There will be no visitation. Cremation rites were accorded.
Private services will be held. R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Braidwood are in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Ernest Niznik Scholarship Fund at the Lincoln-Way High School Central Campus, 1801 E. Lincoln Hwy., New Lenox, Ill. 60451.

Mr. Niznik retired in June 1998 after 36 years as a teacher. He taught at the Lincoln-Way Community High School in New Lenox, the Lockport East High School and the Fairmont Junior High School in Lockport.

He was born Dec. 14, 1935, in Joliet, the son of Francis Gordon and Loretta Margaret Lombardi Niznik. His parents are deceased.

Surviving are his wife, the former Karen McAllister, whom he married Nov. 21, 1959, in Joliet; one daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and John Motta of Pell Lake, Wis.; one brother and sister-in-law, Gilbert L. and Mary Lou Niznik of Plainfield; one sister and brother-in-law, Madelene and Stephen Vargo of Joliet; sister- in-law, Mary Ray Niznik of Joliet; three granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased is one brother, Gordon Niznik.

He had served in the Illinois National Guard.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Braidwood.
